Pilgrim Living: How we Persevere in a Fallen World I Peter 4:1-6 Introduction : The invasion of Ukraine has caused many to flee, seeking refuge for their families in neighboring nations. We've also heard of those who have chosen to stay behind, among them Christians and missionaries. They feel their actions will be a testimony to the people that God has sent them to serve. And so, with their neighbors, many remain in harm's way, to suffer, as least for now, with their friends. Peter wrote this letter to “ God’s elect, strangers in the world …” Even though they were chosen, he makes it clear in 1:6 that “… for a little while, you may have to suffer grief in all kinds of trials …” It’s only for a “little while,” relatively speaking, because we were created for eternity, and the future that God has planned for us is better than we can possibly imagine.
